Established in 2014, Emotion S.r.l. develops and commercializes equipment and devices for e-vehicles recharging. Thanks to its technical competences, it has developed frontline and reliable solutions in the field of e-mobility, such as its charging point SpotLink.

Spotlink’s main strength is its user-friendliness and its added services, such as the portal for managing the recharging as well as the smartphone application. Another strength is the payment modality. With SpotLink each user can pay the service in complete autonomy, by carrying out payments through APP, credit card or directly at the station with pre-payment coupons. In addition, SpotLink is not just a simple recharging station, but also an integrated network with highly technological services. In all its versions it can provide until 32A of power, both in monophasic and in triphasic modalities. It is possible to monitor each station at any time through the SpotLink back office, which allows manager to control several data, such as: the number of charges implemented in a certain period; KWh provided; energy costs; incomes; etc. Furthermore, through its APP the closest charging stations can be always localized, as well as their current status (occupied, out of service…).

Emotion is now developing an integrated service of E-Carsharing which will cover all the Umbria Region Territory. Each e-car will be provided with a multi-functional navigation system which will allow users to communicate with the service provider in case of having any problem. The service will be open not only for residents but also for tourists willing to visit the Umbria Region in a free and ecologic way.

Role in the project

IoT-NGIN will leverage on the experience of Emotion in the area of EV fleets management and the communication requirements they induce. Hence, Emotion will be active in the determination of the IoT-NGIN use cases and successive requirements extraction. Specifically, Emotion will contribute to the requirements analysis, and the specification of the IoT meta-architecture components. Emotion will also participate in the enhancement of the discovery and recognition of IoT devices, and in the development of AR personalized techniques for IoT actuating and sensing. Moreover, Emotion will contribute to the integration part, and specifically in describing the use case services application logic. Emotion will also participate in the smart grid use case adaptation and validation, while highlighting the validation of the use cases results and replication guidelines. Finally, Emotion will contribute in IoT-NGIN’s dissemination and exploitation activities.
