Role in project

ABB will participate in the industry 4.0 pilot on Human-centred safety system in a self-aware indoor factory environment, and Human-centred Augmented Reality assisted build-to-order assembly in Helsinki and support the proof of concept validation with the Bosch case in Barcelona.

ABB will develop use case(s) related to data collection from powertrains and sensors in laboratory and 5G network infrastructure in Helsinki. Furthermore, ABB will create and demonstrate advanced analytics of powertrain based on data collected and digital twins of powertrain. As second use case for 5G technology, ABB will test High Accuracy Indoor Positioning (HAIP) deployment, quality data collection and real time AI for guidance and feedback for employees to optimize frequency converter.

ABB will lead the activities related to the DLT-enabled Meta-Level Digital Twin. This task includes developing and testing end-user applications that will be mainly used in the Smart Industry 4.0 Living Labs use cases. Additionally, ABB will participate in the enhancement of IoT MCM communications, and in the development of deep and reinforcement learning techniques. Moreover, ABB will contribute to the development of AR techniques for personalized IoT sensing. ABB will also provide their insight regarding the smart industry 4.0 use case. Finally, ABB will participate in exploitation and communication activities.
