Our 9th plenary meeting was held on 7th-9th June in Helsinki at a time that is close to date of the city having its longest daylight.
During the three-day meeting, IoT-NGIN Consortium had the chance to address the achievements of our goals in development activities, which have been completed, but also follow up and anticipate the delivery of the final integrated IoT-NGIN framework and the final results of the Living Lab validation. Notably, we also had the chance to draw our exploitation paths more concretely through lively and interactive participation of all attendees in a dedicated exploitation workshop.
In addition, we had the opportunity to take on-premise visits in our four Finnish partners’ facilities, namely AALTO University, Cumucore, ABB and Forum Virium Helsinki. Our meeting has been kindly hosted by AALTO, where we were guided along the Computer Science and School of Business buildings. We were also welcome at Cumucore offices, guided on their developments around 5G network management. ABB gracefully presented to us the company’s Finnish activities and gave us a tour on the powertrain production line, as well as on 5G and AR-related research activities having a real impact on enhancing their processes. Last, but not least, FVH guided us in the Jätkäsaari area and presented us the FVH innovation approach for the Smart City of Helsinki, as well as the traffic congestion problem at rush hours of the harbour that are intended to be addressed through the Smart City Living Lab use cases.IoT-NGIN value has been seen in practice and more is expected to be presented by the end of the project!
