The IoT-NGIN team has participated in the flagship event of the European Big Data and Data-Driven AI Research and Innovation community, the European Big Data Value Forum (EBDVF), organised by the BDVA and the European Commission (DG CNECT). EBDVF brings together industry professionals, business developers, researchers and policy-makers from all over Europe and other regions of the world to advance policy actions in the areas of Data and AI. This year, EBDVF has focused on the “Digital Transformation powered by Data and AI”, a theme that is highly relevant to IoT-NGIN activities and scope.

On the third day of the event, 1st December 2021, Dr Artemis Voulkidis, Technical Director of Synelixis and IoT-NGIN’s Technical Coordinator, presented the project during the “Edge Computing – the convergence point in the human-cloud continuum framework” session. Dr Voulkidis provided insights about the IoT-NGIN technologies and use cases and presented opportunities for SMEs to receive funding by participation in the IoT-NGIN project via open call #1.

Moreover, on December 3rd, 2022, Daniel Calvo, Head of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Unit in Atos, has been available for answering questions about IoT-NGIN in Atos virtual booth.

The physical part of the EBDVF 2021 has been hosted in Ljubljana, while a large portion of sessions has been held online. The event has connected industry professionals, business developers, researchers and policy-makers and has gathered insightful speakers, thus promoting innovation and exchange of ideas in inspiring sessions.
